Nutrition variety is a component of an optimal dietary approach. A diet that can provide the spectrum of macro and micro nutrients is a better designed diet than one devoid of essential nutrients.
Variety can also improve diet adherence for many people as well, which should be kept in mind when programming diets.
I advise to choose 3 different sources for each macronutrient and also have 3 different fruit and veggies sources per day.
This should cover almost all gaps in the diet, provide antioxidant and anti-inflammatory support, aid bowel function and increase adherence.
These are simple but is what will keep you progressing to long term progress in muscle gain.
